On Saturday 12th September, the penultimate IHCAN Conference of 2015, in collaboration with BANT, took place at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London. With three expert speakers and a fantastic array of exhibitors including MegaSporeBiotic, Bio-Kult, Rio Trading and Solgar, the ‘Meeting the microbiome’ conference was completely sold out.
The day began with Professor Tim Spector, Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London, who discussed ‘the human gut microbiome and its association with obesity’. The next talk of the day came from Ben Brown, author of The Digestive Health Solution, who talked on ‘metabolic endotexemia: clinical consequences and nutritional therapy’.
The third and final speaker was the highly anticipated Dr Alessio Fasano, renowned pediatric gastroenterologist and researcher, who discussed ‘how nutrition influences gut microbiome and metabolomic profiles in health and disease’.
In between sessions, our 211 delegates were able to make use of our networking area, which was at full capacity with 17 exhibitors showcasing their brands and getting quality networking time with the attendees, 98% of which stated that they found the conference valuable and would attend again.
The ‘meeting the microbiome’ conference came after a string of extremely successful events throughout the year, and with only one left to go in November – which is now officially sold out – 2015 has proved to be a fantastic year overall for IHCAN Conferences and Target Publishing.
The IHCAN Conference 2016 dates will be announced very soon. If you’d like to discuss getting involved, please call our team on 01279 816300.
